چکیده

Polymeric adsorbents (PAs) have been gaining increased attention for application in industrial wastewater (WW) treatment. However, most studies on evaluating PAs specifically emulsified oil removal are currently limited to performance screening through batch mode testing. Hence, this paper presents a thorough fixed-bed assessment of advanced the from WWs. A unique custom-built column setup was developed with continuous test protocol that involves both adsorption and regeneration media. robust procedure also established automatically prepare representative synthetic produced water (PW) containing oil-water emulsions. Four cutting-edge were evaluated, out which two being tested first time targeting removal. Experimental tests conducted address resin capacity, efficiency, reproducibility repeat cycles. PA2 treated 168 ± 58 bed volumes (BVs) achieving lowest capacity 44 14 mg/g. Higher comparable capacities observed PA1 PA3 at ~100 mg/g, yet found capable treating 807 3 BVs against 548 115 measured PA3. PA4 1219 86 301 27 mg/g indicate its strong potential WW treatment application. This data can provide reference comparison when testing other novel resins Future will focus using real PW their long-term via pilot

Removal of benzalkonium chloride by polymeric adsorbents

Removal of benzalkonium chloride (BKC) from aqueous streams by polymeric resins XAD-7 and XAD-16 was investigated. Adsorption equilibrium isotherms of BKC from water were measured in a batch adsorber at different temperatures and ionic strengths of the external phase. In addition, the influence of an organic solvent (ethanol) on the phase equilibrium was studied. The experimental data was corre...

Removal of industrial cutting oil from oil emulsions by polymeric ultra- and microfiltration membranes.

The utilization of micro- and ultrafiltration with polymeric membranes for treatment of industrial cutting oil emulsion was investigated. The performance of 14 different membranes with pore sizes in the range of 1-800 nm, representing 8 different materials and varying hydrophobicity, was determined experimentally. Membrane permeances between 1.6 and 939 L m 2 h(-1) bar(-1) have been observed fo...

Arsenic removal from water/wastewater using adsorbents--A critical review.

Arsenic's history in science, medicine and technology has been overshadowed by its notoriety as a poison in homicides. Arsenic is viewed as being synonymous with toxicity. Dangerous arsenic concentrations in natural waters is now a worldwide problem and often referred to as a 20th-21st century calamity. High arsenic concentrations have been reported recently from the USA, China, Chile, Banglade...
